I'll Admit When I'm Wrong (Part 1 in a Continuing Series)

The NYTimes has apparently given David Brooks, senior editor at the Weekly Standard, an Op-ed column. I'm not too familiar with Brooks' work but he is currently at the Standard and formerly at the WSJ so I'm hopeful.

Consistency (see my last story) requires that I acknowledge that Bill Keller may be able to put aside his strongly partisan politics and run the paper in a more objective fashion. That the NYTimes has finally decided to add a real conservative to its editorial page is a strong sign that it is moving in the right direction. Now, to truly rehab the NYTimes image, Keller will have to clean up the reporting.

David Brooks has written two articles that I thought were pretty insightful: one about the current generation of college students:

and one about cultural differences and political alignment in America:

Brooks has another article in the current issue of the Atlantic about how un-diverse most Americans' lives actually are. One of his running themes is how the media-generating, college-educated, metropolitan elite is remarkably out of touch with how vast segments of the American people think, act, and live. A writer with an appreciation of how easy it is to get trapped in a fairly limited viewpoint will certainly be a welcome addition to the NYT.

This kind of thing is imitated badly and often soma by others, but Carson's phraseology within poems ambien remains her own: "Rotate the husband and expose cialis a hidden side," she urges early on
